About Me
Hello! My name is Jélen Evans. I'm from Chicago, IL and am a senior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), majoring in Mass Communications, focusing on the journalism track. I have always had a passion for writing and the courses that I have taken at SIUE have helped enhance my writing skills for the future of my career.

My Work
On this page, you will find news stories that I have written for classes that I have taken at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. These news stories have gotten good reviews from my professors who have worked for newspapers themselves, including the Edwardsville Intelligencer.

The pieces displayed after the Criminal Justice Club story, are feature writing pieces that I have written on different topics that I was assigned to report on. The topics include: Thanksgiving, Christmas, a "Man on the street" story, Halloween versus Thanksgiving, an interview piece, as well as a "Who are you?" piece that was written on myself.

On this page, you will find a few scripts and a literary journalism story that I have written at SIUE as well as some poster/brochure work I've done for the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI SWI).
